About Me

I’m Trina.

I’m a happy wife to David, a full-time mother to two boys, Gabriel (11) and Caleb (9), and a girl, Eden (5).  I’m a humble Christian, attempting every day to live more and more according to God’s will.  I’m a homeschooler, so very pleased to be home with my children and learning from the lessons that exist at every turn.  I also have part-time business to think about.  It’s a full and blessed life!

I have always walked to the beat of a different drummer.  I have opinions that run against the grain.  I am one of those crazy women who delivered her babies at home.  I have some strong opinions about medicine.   I put my husband before my kids – gasp!  I enjoy making bread and I’m working on ‘back to basics’ living in this crazy high-tech, fast-paced world.  My husband was home with the kids for 8 years and then I left a high paying job so he could start again in career-land, and I could have my turn with the brood.  Our decision to homeschool put me right over the edge of the ‘weirdness’ cliff.   And I wouldn’t have it any other way.

I’m sure lots of people think I’m nuts.  I’m good with that.

I have a part-time design business that I love.  I work on everything from floor plans in new construction to sourcing fixtures and hanging artwork, and everything in between.  It’s a joy to walk away from a project and know I’ve made someone very happy.  Figuring out the right mix between work and the rest of it is an ongoing challenge, but it’s getting better all the time.                 ( Sing it with me… “It’s get-ting bet-ter all the ti-i-ime…  It’s get-ting bet-ter all the ti-i-ime…”)

See?  Weird.  I tried to warn you.

Ultimately, I strive to find joy in all things so I can live in ultimate contentment

It isn’t easy.  Most days it’s really hard.  But life is filled with choices, and I know that it serves no purpose to cling to the bad moments/days.  I choose not to.  (Usually.)

The joy is there when I just open my eyes to see it.

Journey with me, won’t you?

I join you in the weirdo land — had two of the four babies at home (it was a journey to get there). I also went over the weirdo cliff and home school, too! I like your analysis of your kids — Creative, Sentimental and Sunshine! I love personality tests and assessments. Just ask my husband how many he has had to take!!
